Laboratory Services

We have a fully equipped practice laboratory, enhancing our services to both small and large animal clients. We use these for:

• Microbiology -
   - milk samples
  

• Parasitology -
  - worm egg counts
  - skin scrapes
  

• Biochemistry -
  - General health profiles

• Haematology -
  - Blood screening

Julie Mayfield is our Laboratory Technician. Formerley a milk analyst with the Milk Marketing Board, she holds the "City and Guilds" Lab Technician Certificate. Having spent time at both the VLA in Penrith and the Pathology Lab at Lancaster Infirmary, Julie now deals with all our laboratory testing.
